Digital Transformation

Why This Program

To equip young women with digital literacy skills and enhance their active participation in the digital economy. Background and Context Rwanda has made significant progress in promoting women's and girls' education across various fields, including STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). This progress has enhanced digital literacy, innovation, and creativity in business activities. However, the application of these skills in decision-making, both at personal and professional levels, remains low among young women. Addressing this gap is essential to ensure that young women actively contribute to the digital economy and leverage their skills for sustainable development.

Target Audience

Young women aged 18-30, particularly those with foundational knowledge in STEM or business-related fields and a keen interest in advancing their digital literacy skills for personal and professional growth.

Expected Outcomes and Impact

  • Participants will develop a strong foundation in digital literacy, enabling them to apply their skills effectively in various sectors.

  • By connecting with online work platforms, young women will gain access to new job opportunities.

  • Through online apprenticeship, they will learn project management, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in a virtual environment.

  • Participants will be encouraged to use their creativity and technological skills for problem-solving and innovation.

  • The program will help close the gender gap in digital and technological fields, promoting women’s leadership in the digital economy.

Intwari digital project seeks to empower young women by equipping them with digital literacy skills and fostering their engagement in the digital economy. By addressing the gap in the application of technological skills, Women GAIN Rwanda aims to contribute to closing the gender gap in leadership and decision-making while promoting innovation and sustainable development. This initiative will provide participants with practical skills and inspire confidence and drive for active participation in shaping Rwanda’s digital future.
